Some more releases I want you to know about.
Not so much in the ambient music category (or how ever you want to call it) but there are a few other releases (other as in: other than the ‘Vitamin S’ release) this month that I am very excited about. In fact, a few of the people that I admire the most musically are all coming with a new album around the same time.
Bass player Richard Bona will be coming out with a new album called ‘The Ten Shades Of The Blues’, on which he will playing upright bass for the first time as I can tell from the album cover. I am sure he will blow me away on that as well.
It’s been a while since Sting came with a new album pop album, although we did see him with The Police of course and he released an album with the music of John Dowland. ‘If On A Winters Night’ will not be a pop album like we know from him either, but it will consist of old English folk music, probably combined with some of Stings’ magic spices.
John Mayer’s ‘Battle Studies’ will be coming out midway October. Of course he already proved himself with ‘Continuum’ about tree years ago, and that’s probably why I am even more looking forward to his new album. Also kind of wondering how many more semi-sophisticated theories about life he wants to tell us about, I’m just in it for the beautiful music.
Although I would not like to compare my self in any way to these icons, it is a beautiful coincidence that ‘Vitamin S’ will be released around the same time. In fact, things are looking good, and at this point it looks like ‘Vitamin S’ will see the light of day within a month from now!
